For those with impaired vision, VoiceOver is a great way to navigate the Apple Watch user interface by sound. It works by reading out-loud all buttons and text. To enable VoiceOver, open the Settings app and go to General > Accessibility > VoiceOver, then toggle the switch on.

As you move your finger across the screen you’ll hear the name of each item spoken out-loud. You can also tap on an item to hear it spoken, and swipe left to right, or up and down to select an adjacent item.

To select a button, just double-tap on it. To go back a page, use two fingers and trace a “z” shape across the screen.

Pause VoiceOver

You can pause VoiceOver at any time by double-tapping on the screen with two fingers. Similarly, you can resume Voiceover by performing the same action.

Turn off the display while using VoiceOver

If you don’t need to see the display while using VoiceOver then open the Settings app and go to General > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Screen Curtain and turn the toggle switch on.

Turn VoiceOver off

The easiest way to switch off VoiceOver is to activate Siri by holding down the Digital Crown, then say “Turn VoiceOver off.” Additionally, you can open the Settings app and go to General > Accessibility > VoiceOver, hen tap toggle the VoiceOver switch off.
