Get rid of unwanted moments with just a few finger taps…
So you’ve recorded an amazing video, but it’s a bit too long. iPhone makes it easy to trim the beginning and end of any video to remove those unwanted or unnecessary moments. The resulting edit can be saved with one tap, or saved as a new clip ensuring the original is left intact on iPhone.
In this tutorial we’ll explain how to easily trim a video with just a few taps of your finger. Read on to learn how it’s done…
1. Load up a video
Either record a new video, or open one from the Gallery. You’ll notice small grey handles at both the beginning and end of the video, located at the top of the screen. Tap and hold one, then drag it to the left or right.
2. Editing a video
You’ll notice that the grey handles have turned yellow, you can now use these to trim the beginning and end of the video. Drag the handles to eliminate any unnecessary content, then tap the Trim button at the top of the screen.
3. Save or Replace?
iPhone will ask if you would like to trim the original video, or create a new video with the edited length. Tap whichever is relevant to your needs.
4. Editing like a pro
Congratulations, you’ve edited your first film on iPhone! You’ll see the edited film appear in the Camera Roll. To share it, tap the Share button in the bottom left corner.
