Apple reveals more re-designed icons for iLife and iWork

Apple has posted more icon redesigns on its website for iPhoto, Pages, iMovie, Numbers, GarageBand and Keynote. All sport iOS 7-inspired designs with vibrant gradients and white overlays. The new icons briefly appeared on Apples ‘Built-in Apps’ page, as reported by 9to5mac, but have now been replaced with the existing designs.

Earlier last week Apple revealed the new icons for iPhoto and Garageband, but this is the first time we’ve seen the updated designs for Pages, iMovie, Numbers and Keynote. At the time of writing it’s unclear if the apps will be fully redesigned in time for the iPad event on October 22nd, but it’s likely given all the apps currently feature dated interfaces that look out of place when used in iOS 7.

We’ll keep you updated with any news in the coming days. In the meantime, here’s a comparison chart between the new and old icon designs:

It's worth noting that Apple's Human Design Guidelines stipulated that application icons should view the object (preferably 3D object) from a front and above perspective. That was in the guidelines since OS X began so I wonder if they have rewritten the HDG document?
