AirDrop is an amazing new way to share photos, notes, lists and more with other devices sharing the same wireless network.
It works using a combination of WiFi and Bluetooth, and there’s no setup required. As a result it’s never been quicker or easier to share files with friends, family and colleagues.
Find out how easy it is in this simple tutorial, or watch the video below to see how it works…
1. Control Center
Open Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, then tap the AirDrop bar near the bottom of the window.
2. Be Discoverable
A pop-up will appear asking whether you’d like to be discoverable by contacts on your device or anyone located nearby. Choose whichever is suitable for your needs.
3. Share Button
AirDrop is now active. To share a file, open a photo, note, web page or anything else with share capabilities, then tap the blue Share button at the bottom of the screen.
4. Get Sharing
You’ll see the AirDrop panel in the center of the Share screen. Anyone nearby with AirDrop enabled will appear in this panel. To share the file with them, just tap on their face or name.
5. About to share
On the recipients device a pop-up window will appear asking them to decline or accept.
After they’ve accepted you’ll see a small animated circular band appear around the recipient. The file has been sent once the animated band has completed.
